Bleak Week

It's been a really stressful week. I did well on my music history test. That is something cool. As a lot of people know I spent my entire spring break at the air force base trying to make them happy with my level of loadmaster knowledge. I flew 3 times and had an instructor quiz me over material the other 2 days. Everyone said I was doing well, and I was scheduled to do my check ride today. Needless to say that didn't happen. I went to fly Friday. Nothing went as planned. I knew it was going to be a bad day when I tried to go through the gate and ended up getting randomly searched. At any rate I went out to my airplane and it was broken. The maintance people had to try and repair it before the flight. So while I'm trying to preflight and rig the airplane for my airdrop, they keep turning the power on and off. That really frustrated and kind of shook me. When we finally where airborne and had the ramp and door open ready to drop the cargo, the co-pilot screwed up and didn't activate the switch to airdrop the cargo. I ended up calling a airdrop malfunction which is kind of scary.
At any rate I'm worried. I called and spoke with the chief yesterday, and was basically told that if I can't come down to the base next Tuesday and Wednesday night they are going to activate me and make me come down there. Well that wouldn't be a problem if it where the summer, but I've got like a month left of school. If he does that I will probably loose this entire semester. That isn't right. The whole reason that I joined air guard was to help get a little discipline and to help me pay for school. Not to keep my out of school for 2 years, like they did, and to make me fail out of a semester of school. Joining the air guard was the worst mistake of my life. The benefit to pain in the ass factor just doesn't make it worth it. I've only got 2 more years. I will try to endure. I hate them.
Well, I'd like to end on a little more positive of a note. I watched Constantine, and Donnie Darko here recently. We went to the movies to see Constantine which was cool. We haven't actually gone to a movie theater in quite some time. Of course having a surround sound and netflix, probably has something to do with that. I loved Donnie Darko. It's kind of out there, but it really makes you think. Also the music to it is kind of haunting and beautiful. I've had it in my head now for like 3 days. I'm going to have to got by it.
Finally if there are a lot of grammatical errors in my journal, it's not because I'm illiterate, it's because I'm lazy. I'll run spell checker of course, but I'm not going to go to the trouble to proof read. I like it my journal rough.

So Sleepy

Well things appear to be going quite well. I worked all last week at the base and I'm very tired. I was hoping that would be all the time I had to spend down there for a while, but I'll be there next Wednesday, and Friday. I'm having a check ride next Friday. That's a pretty big deal. I'll have an evaluator fly with me, watch everything I do, and ask me bunches of questions. Hopefully that goes well and I can finally start focusing back on school. Life is such a balancing act.(for me at least) You try to really well on something (school) and something else suffers (military). Time is such a weird substance. You can't wait for it to pass, and then it goes way to quickly.
Tomorrow is Leah's birthday. She is going to be really spoiled this time around. Her mom came and visited last week, and her dad is here tonight. So she will be getting about 4 birthday dinners, and a lot of presents. Of course she deserves it. I love you Leah.
Well we got the piano moved with no problems. I'm still kind of sore from moving it however. It also needs to be tuned pretty badly. I'm waiting for about another week though. From everything I've read you need to wait a couple of weeks before you get it tuned.

Crack, snapple, pop

Well, last weekend my computer officially died. It's been acting up here lately and not wanting to come on, and Saturday it quit all together. I've got a friend trying to fix it. Hopefully it isn't the processor. Of course I've had the computer for a year and like three months so it is totally out of warranty. Presently I'm using Dave's computer. I'm really glad he's letting me use his, but it's really frustrating. I'll try to open a program only to realize that I'm not using my computer so the program is of course not there. Alas, hopefully I'll get mine fixed soon. Of course the computer fairy could just put a new one under my pillow.
In other news I'm getting a piano. I'm really excited about it. Leah, and my friends Ben and Stephanie surprised me by getting me one. Of course now the fun part of moving it comes in. It is a nice piano, and I don't believe it even has a single scratch on it. If anyone knows of a good piano tuner, drop me a line.
Spring break is almost upon us. I hope everyone has a good time and gets to rest. Hopefully I get to read some, do some homework, and watch some good movies.
Chanticleer came and performed on Tuesday. They where excellent with the exception of one soprano. He kept going flat. I was impressed with their repertoire. I like all of their modern stuff. I also like the jazz. Well folks that's about enough for one night.
