Days off

It is so great having two days off a week. I can't wait to graduate and that to become a normal thing. I haven't been up to a whole lot since my last post. I went to the base to day to turn in some paperwork. It is going to be wonderful when all of my military issues are resolved and I'm allowed to separate. I mowed and ate some weeds yesterday. It looks quite nice. I think I'm one of those weird people who actually like to mow. What's funny is I always hated doing it when I lived with my parents. Of course it does make a difference when you are trying to make your own place look nice. Well I've been staining my deck for the last 4 hours. I'm not done yet, but I'm getting a whole lot closer. I really like the stain color Leah and I picked out it looks very nice. That's it for now.

Trip to Texas and other things.

Summer is going really well so far, with the exception of the military. Leah's and my trip to Texas was a lot of fun. We got to visit with all of her family. We also got to see Allison and her little son. It was quite a good time. We replaced some of the wood on the side of her mom's house. After we where done with that he mom mentioned that one of these days she was going to pull up her deck and plant flowers there. So I told her that since we where there we could do it for her. That was a lot of work, but well worth it. Mom was really happy when we where done and was already trying to decide what to plant there. I also got to eat authentic Indian food. My brother in law is Indian and his mother cooked us a wonderful meal. Ah, the days are starting to blur together. You know when you can't really remember if today is Tuesday or Friday. I love that. Summer is great.
One last thing. I am very fond of all of my friends, so please don't take this the wrong way. I truly enjoy when everyone comes over to visit, but please call first. I may be planning to go somewhere, or as lazy as I am, maybe taking a nap. So if you'd like to come up here please call. If you can't get a hold of anyone, just try again later. That is all folks.

A New Post

Well, I did pretty well this semester. I got all A’s and one B. My B was in music history. I don’t feel bad however, because it was a hard class. I’m enjoying having days off now. I was off today and again tomorrow. It’s great. Leah and I will be going to Texas next Sunday. It is going to be a fun trip. I haven’t seen my in-laws in a while and I’m rather fond of them. That’s all folks.

School is out for Summer!

I am done with all my finals for the semester! That is such a magnificent feeling. I took my last one today at 11:00. Or actually it was yesterday, but oh well. No more homework for a couple of months. That is great. Well, I turned in my resignation to the Air Guard today. So now it just has to be signed off by the general, and I’m a civilian yet again. I’ve got mixed feelings about it. I truly did enjoy flying, but I guess that chapter of my life is all but closed. Just 2 semesters and student teaching and I will finally graduate. Oh, something I’m exited about (yes I’m a big nerd); I sold my textbooks back today and bought some new speakers for my car. They sound really good. It’s nice to actually hear treble, and midrange. You, know this is probably one of my sillier posts. I finished watching all the Family Guy episodes Big Dave has on DVD. Those guys need to hurry up and put some more new ones out. It sure is fun to not watch a series for a while and then watch a bunch of them marathon style.

Summer break is upon us!

It looks like summer break is all but here. Of course I’ve gotta get past this week first. It’s late at night as usual and I really need to get to bed soon. My first test is voice juries. That’s the test that I’m the most nervous about. It’s been a hard semester, and I think I’ve progressed in voice the least. Don’t get me wrong, I have made progress, just not nearly as much as I’ve wanted to. I just spread myself a little thin this semester. Hopefully, they will pick a song tomorrow and I will remember it. I will be sending my resignation letter to the air national guard in the next couple of days. I need to do that soon, but I want to make sure my letter is the picture of perfection. With any luck, they will accept it, and life will go well. It looks like this is going to be a good summer. I will just be working. What a relief. I was going to take summer course, but if I did it wouldn’t leave me with enough hours for the next two semesters to be a full time college student. So I’ll be working and having two days off a week. It’s going to be absolutely great. It’s been a year now since I’ve had any kind of regular days off. I’ve been either going to school, or the base, or Wal-Mart. I’m not going to know what to do with myself. Well, actually I will probably sleep….a lot. It’s going to be magnificent. I’ve been on my prescription Zoloft for about 2 weeks now. I can tell a slight difference but not a ton. I think when I go back to the Doc, I’m going to see if I can’t up the dose, or switch to something else. Did anyone else notice the hail we had last Friday? I am so friggin glad that Leah’s and my cars where in the garage. Leah and I went with Mandy to New Life Church on Sunday. It was a pretty good service. You could tell that they cater to a college age group. Overall I enjoyed myself. I was nervous at first, but I always am in a new social situation. Hopefully I’ll overcome that some day. I didn’t overly enjoy the music service, but I really enjoyed the pastor. I could see myself going there for a while. I still kind of spiritually confused, but I guess some things I will just never know. I don’t know what all this summer holds, but I hope it is good with a large dose of relaxation and fun.
